St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham is looking forward to his team playing at Castleford tonight, because the Tigers are a club for whom he has a lot of affection.

Castleford’s old-style ground is also somewhere Cunningham enjoys being.

“I think this is a vital game for us, and will be a good test of our resolve,” he said.

“We’ve done really well away from home in recent times, and we’ve had a great couple of weeks at Langtree Park.

“I really enjoy playing at Castleford. As a player, I used to love playing there. It reminds me of the old Knowsley Road – the atmosphere’s great.

“Daryl Powell’s a great coach and a good friend of mine.

“We’ve been friends for a long time, we used to play together. It’ll be good to get across for a chat with Daryl and I’m sure the players will enjoy playing on that surface.”
