Saints put on a show for Holbrook

St Helens crushed Hull FC at Magic Weekend on Saturday to hand new boss Justin Holbrook a perfect welcome to the Super League.

First-half tries by Alex Walmsley, Ryan Morgan and Morgan Knowles put Saints firmly in control as they banished last week’s cup capitulation at Castleford firmly behind them.

Walmsley added another after the break, with Regan Grace (2) Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Tommy Makinson completing a 45-0 rout.

Hull had won their last five games, but Saints’ performance gave the watching Holbrook plenty of cause for optimism for the future.
