Ryan returns to Town

Workington Town have announced the re-signing of prop Joe Ryan.

The Warrington player featured regularly for the Wolves Reserves before joining Town on loan in June.

That initial agreement was extended to the end of the season and Ryan made five appearances.

He impressed enough to earn a return to the club for 2018.

Town director John Walker said “Joe did really well when he joined us on loan last season. He has a professional attitude and impressed in the games he played for us. He has the right mix of go forward and a solid defence that will blend well with our other forward signings.”

Ryan himself said of his return “I’m very happy to have signed for next season. I really enjoyed my short time at the club this year and it didn’t take much thinking over when they offered me a deal. Everyone involved with the club made me feel really welcome whilst I was there and their plan for 2018 to kick on from last year is an exciting one. I’m really looking forward to working with Leon Pryce to develop my game and I just can’t wait to get started in pre season now.”
