Long joined the Rhinos ahead of the 2021 season to work with former head coach Richard Agar. Rugby League Live reports that the former player is set for a new challenge at the conclusion of the 2022 season. 

Crooks closing in on new club

Ben Crooks is set to depart Hull KR at the end of the current campaign and is nearing close to a contract elsewhere for 2023. (Hull Daily Mail)

The 29-year-old has interest from the Championship after the winger was not offered a new contract at Craven Park.

Terry O’Connor to deliver trophy

Terry O’Connor will deliver the Super League trophy at the 25th Grand Final next weekend. The semi-finals kick off tonight, Friday, as Wigan host Leeds before St Helens face Salford on Saturday. 

Briscoe signs Featherstone deal

Featherstone have re-signed winger Luke Briscoe to a new contract for the 2023 campaign. He joins the likes of Joey Leilua, Mark Kheirallah and Johnathon Ford to have signed a new deal with the Championship club.

Wilkin’s wild Wakefield comments

Former player and current Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin admitted he knew nothing about the new Wakefield boss in Mark Applegarth.

In what caused divided opinions on social media, Wilkin, 38, was unable to share his opinion on the Super League club’s new appointment because he knows nothing about him.

World Cup squads announced

Greece, New Zealand and Tonga have all named squads ahead of this year’s World Cup. Michael Maguire and Kristian Woolf have both named extended squads that will be cut down ahead of the tournament, while Greece have announced their official team for their first-ever World Cup.
