Castleford stand-off Rangi Chase is in talks over a move to NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons.

Chase, 26, who is currently on tour with the England national team in South Africa, missed out on a transfer deadline move to Hull earlier this season.

Complications with his visa application denied him a move to the KC Stadium, and Hull have since added Salford’s Daniel Holdsworth to their line-up.

Tigers chief executive Steve Ferres said: “Rangi is in talks with the club but to date, no transfer has been agreed and he remains a Castleford player.”

The 2011 Super League Man of Steel signed a two-year extension with the Tigers just 12 months ago, keeping him under contract until the end of 2015.

He previously played in the NRL with the Dragons in 2007 and 2008, scoring seven tries in 31 appearances, before moving to Yorkshire ahead of the 2009 season.
