Raleigh blames defeat on poor discipline

Wakefield Wildcats prop Andy Raleigh blamed his sides poor discipline as the factor which saw them lose 18-16 to Huddersfield Giants.

The 31-year-old, who made his 150th Super League appearance, was however upbeat about his performance and fellow front-rower Justin Poore.

He told the club’s official website he said: “There’s plenty of positives to take from it because they have come with the reputation of a big strong pack and I think we did well against them in the middle but again we gave them too much easy ground by giving them easy penalties.

“First half we gave away eight which we can’t do against opposition, let alone top of the table. I think we muscled up well and obviously we’ve still got the attitude that we can win games right at the death and if that pass had been given we’d have won the game.”

Wakefield travel to France to play Catalans on Saturday and the former Sheffield, Hull KR and Giants man is hoping for similar effort

“Our attitude was great but obviously there were too many penalties we gave away and we let them come out of their half a little too easy which made the difference.

“You have to do it every week so hopefully we can go forward with this, there’s not too much doom and gloom because we played pretty well and played some good stuff so hopefully we can take that onto Catalans this week.”
