Oldham coach Tony Benson is set to unleash Luke Stenchion in Sunday’s Co-operative Championship One clash with London Skolars.

The 25-year-old prop is set to make his Roughyeds’ debut against the men from the capital as Oldham search for only their second league win of the campaign.

Benson said: ““I’m thrilled to have got him because he’s just the sort of forward we need. He will be a great addition to our squad.”

Benson is also boosted by the possible return of four first-teamers who have been missing in recent weeks.

Marcus St Hilaire, Luke Sutton, Neil Roden and Matthew Fogarty are all in contention to play on Sunday.

Skolars’ coach Joe Mbu was encouraged by last week’s 38-30 defeat at Swinton.

He said: “We showed that we have a bit of fight in us, and that’s what we need to keep doing.”

Mbu reserved particular praise for Neil Thorman, Kylan Skee and Jy-Mel Coleman, saying: “My two halves and full back are outstanding, and the guys are working well off them.”
