Powell could play for Scorpions

South Wales Scorpions have confirmed that Andy Powell could play for them against the All Golds this weekend.

Powell, 31, made his rugby league debut last Friday during his Wigan side’s defeat to Castleford.

Scorpions head coach Dave Clark said: “We may be fielding Andy on the dual registration rule this Sunday but this has not been confirmed yet.

“We may not know until the weekend, we are just waiting to see on what Wigan think is best for him and his rugby league development.

“We know that Andy was, and still is, a popular player in South Wales and I’m sure that the Welsh public would love to have a chance to see play in only his second ever professional rugby league game.

“We will keep everyone updated as soon as we know.”
