London Broncos have confirmed that Ben Pointer has inked a one-year extension to his current contract.

The 20-year-old hooker, who came through the ranks at Northampton Demons, has spent time on loan at London Skolars this season.

“I’m very happy to be staying on with the Broncos. While I’ve been playing for Skolars this year, I’ve also been training with the Broncos and it’s a really great group of boys,” said Pointer.

“It’s a really great club environment and the set up in Ealing is fantastic.

“The team have obviously done very well this season, and I really look forward to becoming a part of that, and continuing on with their good work next year.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity that Hendo, Jermaine and Skolars gave me this year – I’ve loved my time playing at New River.”

Broncos head coach Andrew Henderson is delighted that the player has extended his stay at the club.

“Benny’s a fantastic young bloke, and a player we value, who has come through the system,” he said.

“He’s continually learning and further developing his skills, and he’s had a very strong season for Skolars this year and gained an impressive amount of experience and game time.

“It’s very pleasing to be able to reward his hard work with a further contract – he fits in really well with the culture of our squad, and he wants to be here for all the right reasons.”
