Peacock launches The JP Business Club

Correspondent

Jamie Peacock has launched an exclusive business club aiming to give local firms an exclusive insight into the world of elite sport and what it takes to be successful on and off the field.

Peacock is the Head of Rugby at Hull Kingston Rovers after a glittering 20-year career at the highest level and will use experiences from that time to launch his JP Business Club – the first of it’s kind for the Yorkshire and Humber area.

As well as gaining behind-the-scenes access to the life of an elite athlete and the workings of a professional sports outfit, the club will alos offer efficient networking opportunities, tips on getting the most from sponsorship in the sporting arena, and advice on motivation, achieving success and embedding leadership in your organisation.

Members will also receive exclusive gifts for signing up and Peacock is promising those involved will benefit from the experience.

“When you work in sport and live and breathe it for so many years, you can take for granted just how special, exciting and rewarding it can be,” Peacock said.

“The business club will be about introducing that side of rugby league to new people and showing them what can be achieved with the right approach.

“After hanging up the boots at the end of last season, I’ve become more involved with the commercial side of the sport and it’s something that genuinely excites me. Rugby league is a brilliant game that appeals to such a wide variety of people and there’s a lot of untapped potential in terms of what it can offer to businesses, and vice-versa.

“This will be the first business club of its kind for a professional rugby league side in Yorkshire and I’m looking forward to what it can achieve, particularly in Hull where I’m already learning that there are some fantastic companies doing lots of good things and just in need of a platform to kick on to the next level.

“The idea is to combine my experience as a player with my current role at Hull KR to bring like-minded businesses together and look at what it takes to be successful in the sporting environment and how you can apply that to the workplace, particularly for those people who have never been involved in sport before.

“I’m sure it will be rewarding but a big part of what we have in mind is to make it enjoyable along the way as well. It’s a new approach to the outdated networking format and we are very confident there is the appetite amongst the local business community to get involved.”

The JP Business Club was officially launched last week and membership is already past 50 per cent capacity with more than half of the places available snapped up within the first few days. Membership is priced at £1,000 plus VAT for 12 months and is for one person per company, although one guest will be allowed at each exclusive event.

Events include joining Jamie in the changing room at the KC Lightstream Stadium on the eve of the Good Friday Hull derby for unique insight, as well as joining Jamie at York Racecourse with the Hull KR first team squad.
