Up to 10 Huddersfield players face surgery over the close season, after the Giants revealed the extent of their injury woe.

Key pack men Luke O’Donnell (shoulder) and Eorl Crabtree (shoulder and elbow) are expected to return to train in mid-late December, while fellow forward Jacob Fairbank‘s (shoulder) return is unknown.

Wingers Jermaine McGillvary (ankle), Luke George (hernia) and Aaron Murphy (ankle) are also set for operations, which will see them miss the start of pre-season training.

Hooker Luke Robinson (hernia) is also on the list, while playmakers Danny Brough (groin) and Scott Grix (foot) could join the list, with both players currently awaiting specialist advice.

Youngster Elliott Gorman (shoulder) completes the list, his return date is uncertain until his operation is complete.

It comes at the end of a difficult season at the John Smith’s Stadium, which saw them lose Kevin Brown (ankle), Lee Gilmour (shoulder), Jon Molloy (knee) and Josh Johnson (ankle) to season ending injuries.

Brown and Gilmour have since signed deals to move on with Widnes and Castleford respectively.
