Parcell ready to rip in at Rhinos

New Leeds hooker Matt Parcell is looking forward to getting into action with the Rhinos, after completing his move from NRL outfit Manly Sea Eagles.

Parcell, the grandson of a Kangroos tourist, believes his running game will suit Leeds, with the current style of play at Manly hampering his chances to show the full complement of his skills.

“I’m really excited about coming over and taking up this opportunity,” he said.

“After talking to Gary Hetherington and Brian McDermott, I’m hoping that the style of footy they want to play will suit me, and allow me to play my natural game.

“I’ve done the whole preseason with Manly, so I’m fit and strong and ready to play.

“It’s always something I wanted to do. Having a contract at Manly, I didn’t think it would be so early.

“But I’m really excited and really looking forward to it.

“I’m hoping I can fit into the team and help them get back into the top four again.

“Hopefully I can settle in really quickly and hit the ground running.”
