Oxford make first signings

Oxford have made their first ever signing in the shape of former Oldham utility player Valu Bentley.

Bentley, 30, is joined by another former Roughyed in prop David Ellison, who has also followed Tony Benson to join the new Championship 1 outfit.

Benson said: “Valu fits really well between the tough stuff in the middle, taking the ball up and playing at six with having a good pass on him.

“I’m thrilled and proud to secure Dave the loyalty shown to me by him is a great quality and his desire to play rugby for me will be exemplary to others as we integrate the squad.”

Oxford, along with Hemel Stags and Gloucestershire All Golds, are new to Championship 1 for 2013.
