Owen charged with rape and burglary

Former Wakefield and Castleford winger Richar Owen has been charged with rape and burglary.

Owen is on remand for the alleged attack late last year and will appear in Leeds Crown Court today.

He has been charged with two offences of rape and another of breaking into a property.

Owen spent eight seasons with Castleford and the past three with Wakefield.

He was released from Trinity in October.
