Form Manly and Bradford half Matt Orford is in hospital after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.

Orford underwent hip surgery in North Sydney’s Mater Hospital last week and remained there following complications from the operation.

On Sunday morning he was found on the bathroom floor after collapsing from a seizure.

Orford was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital and doctors performed an operation to remove a blood clot from his brain.

The 38-year old currently remains in hospital with his family by his bedside.

“Matt is in good hands with the medical staff at Royal North Shore,’’ his father Allan Orford said today.

“Naturally, his mother and his family are devastated with what has happened.

“We like to thank the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Club and the rugby league community who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.”
