Oldham set to announce stadium soon

Oldham are on the verge of confirming the venue at which they will play their home games in 2016.

Whitebank Stadium, where the club have played home games for the past five years, does not meet minimum criteria for the Championship.

Match day and season ticket prices are also set to be confirmed, and the latter will go on sale shortly.

“We have been very active over the course of the last few weeks in trying to get things sorted out, but it wasn’t as straightforward as a lot of people might think,” said club chairman Chris Hamilton.

“I’m happy to report that we are now close to hitting the finishing line and that in itself will be a significant development for everyone connected with the club, not least supporters who have had to live through a very frustrating period since the end of last season.

“It has been equally frustrating for the club and for me, but we are now reaching the stage when announcements can soon be made and when we can then start putting things in place for our crack at the Championship.”
