Oldham have announced the re-signings of Lewis Charnock and Matthew Fletcher, while Luke Nelmes rejoins the club for the 2021 Championship season.

Charnock, 25, features at stand-off and joined the club ahead of 2020 from Barrow.

He said: “I’ve been working right through it so I’m a lot luckier than the majority of people. But even so, it’s been a long time between matches. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we will hear something soon about training again.”

Fletcher, 20, is one of the youngest members of the club’s squad.

“I can’t wait to start training again with everyone else,” he said.

“There’s no substitute for that. I signed for the club late and I’m the first to admit I didn’t have an amazing start and then I did my shoulder which also set me back.

“In short, I know I can do a lot better than anything I’ve done so far. I’ve got a point to prove.”

Nelmes, 27, featured for the club in 2018 and signed again in 2019, before making a surprise switch to Dewsbury, playing three games. He has signed on a one-year deal.

“I do have unfinished business to do at Oldham, as Matt says, and I can’t wait to get back and get cracking,” Nelmes said.

“The fans at Oldham are brilliant. I loved my time there in 2018.

“At the end there were a few issues away from rugby, but I’ve got my head back on now and I think I’ve got a point to prove. That’s what I intend to do.”
