Oldham chairman impressed by League 1 rivals

Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton is taking nothing for granted, as his team look to seal promotion to the Championship.

The Roughyeds currently sit in first place in the League 1 table, but Hamilton knows that there nothing has been decided yet.

“We have four games left and winning the lot would be nice. It would be the ideal scenario,” he told the Manchester Evening News.

‘‘We are certainly not underestimating Newcastle because they are a physical side and they will be looking to bounce back after losing to Gloucester.

‘‘The whole competition is very tight and so competitive. It is also good to see rival local teams also up there challenging. The standard is very good.’’
