O’Brien: Giants are a top eight team

Adam O’Brien believes Huddersfield are on the right track as they look to force their way into the top eight in the Super League.

The Giants head into Friday’s game at Wakefield having won two out of their last three outings and O’Brien thinks the team can continue their recent progress.

“We’re building in the right way and we’ve got some players coming back from injury,” he told the club’s official website.

“We’ve got a good squad training week in, week out. Earlier on in the season we were struggling to get a team to train because of having so many injuries.

“But now we’ve got a better team to train with, you can get some relationships going in training which helps massively on a game day.

“We’re a top eight team – we shouldn’t be in this bottom four, but at the moment we are.

“We started light but now we’ve got a bit of form together and hopefully we can push out of this bottom four and get into the top eight and then push us up the league.

“We’re into the back end of the season, so we’ve got to get some wins together and hopefully push us up that table.”
