NSW beat Queensland in Origin II

New South Wales have tied up the 2015 State of Origin series at 1-1, after beating Queensland in Melbourne on Wednesday.

The final score was 26-18 in the Blues’ favour, and both teams will now head to a deciding match at Brisbane next month.

Blues skipper Paul Gallen played for much of the match with a painful rib injury which did not respond to an injection.

Despite coming off in the first half, the aggressive loose forward was back out on the park soon afterwards to play out the whole game.

The game was not without controversy either, with Mitchell Pearce denied a try for NSW, and Greg Inglis also having one ruled out for a forward pass, despite him running 90 metres to cross the line for Queensland.

Blues back rower Ryan Hoffman was also knocked down at one stage by Maroons centre Justin Hodges’ swinging arm.

RESULT:

New South Wales 26 (Michael Jennings, Josh Morris, Aaron Woods, Josh Dugan tries; Trent Hodkinson 5 goals)
Queensland 18 (Matt Scott, Greg Inglis, Matt Gillett tries; Johnathan Thurston 3 goals)
(Half time 14-10)
