New Zealand Warriors heaped more misery on Canterbury, inflicting a heavy 36-12 defeat on their visitors in Auckland.

The Bulldogs raced into a 12-0 lead with scores from Steve Turner and Jonathan Wright but Elijah Taylor and James Maloney hit back to level the scores at the break.

The home side put their foot down in the second period, registering scores from Lance Hohaia, Aaron Heremaia (2) and Feleti Mateo.

Brisbane got one over on their near neighbours Gold Coast, beating the beleaguered Titans 30-10.

A score from David Mead and two Scott Prince penalties cancelled out Broncos tries from Sam Thaiday and Justin Hodges, meaning the sides were tied 10-10 at the interval.

Two scores from Jharal Yow Yeh were followed up by a late try to Josh Hoffman.

A drop goal from halfback Chris Sandow deep into extra time handed South Sydney a narrow 21-20 victory over their rivals the Roosters.

Scores from Kayne Linnett and Sean Kenny-Dowall ensured the Roosters went in at the break with a 10-6 advantage.

Dylan Farrell got on the scoresheet for the Rabbitohs, but a brace from Roosters winger Sam Perrett looked to have sealed the result for the Tricolours.

But Greg Inglis’ last minute try levelled the scores before Sandow chimed in with a 50-metre drop goal.

Wests Tigers got back to winning ways with a 38-18 victory over North Queensland in Townsville.

Gareth Ellis and Blake Ayshford crossed for the Tigers during the first half to help the visitors into a 12-4 lead at the hooter.

Willie Tonga raced in after the interval to even up the scores but tries from Benji Marshall, Tim Moltzen, Ayshford and Liam Fulton ensured the Sydneysiders went home with the points.

Luke Walsh was the hero for Penrith when he kicked a drop goal in golden point time to defeat rivals Parramatta 23-22.

David Simmons and Lachlan Coote crossed for the Panthers either side of efforts from Justin Horo and Etu Uaisele, meaning the teams were tied 12-12 at the interval.

Both teams traded scores in the second period with Simmons replying to a score from Reni Maitua and Coote crossing after Casey McGuire to set up a tense finish.

Drop goal attempts from Luke Burt and Travis Burns sailed wide before Walsh slotted the crucial one-pointer.

Melbourne kept Canberra scoreless at home for the first time in their history, winning 26-0.

Matt Duffie and Ryan Hinchcliffe crossed at both sides of the half, meaning the Storm led 10-0 at the interval.

More scores after the break from Cooper Cronk, Duffie and Jesse Bromwich rounded off a clinical performance.

Manly produced a powerful first half performance to defeat Newcastle 32-10 at Ausgrid Stadium.

Two scores from Jamie Lyon either side of efforts from Michael Robertson and Glenn Stewart meant the Sea Eagles held a commanding 22-0 lead at the half time break.

James McManus crossed twice at either end of the second period, but the Knights had leaked tries from Brett Stewart and Steve Matai in between, leaving the final score 32-10 to the visitors.

Cronulla’s temporary purple patch came to a shuddering halt with a heavy 38-8 defeat by St George in Mark Gasnier’s final match at Kograh.

The Dragons surged into a 24-0 interval lead with scores from Matt Cooper, Brett Morris, Michael Weyman and rookie forward Jake Marketo.

A temporary resurgence from the Sharks after the break saw them notch back-to-back tries from Josh Cordoba and Colin Best but two late scores from Jamie Soward and Jon Green saw the Dragons comfortable winners.
