No new Hull deal for Horne

Richard Horne has revealed that there is no playing contract on the table for him at Hull FC next season.

Despite this, the 32-year-old is hopeful that he can work with the coaching staff in some capacity in 2015.

“I’ve been informed that I won’t be offered a new deal next year so for me, I want to finish on a high,” Horne said, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

“It’s been a great sixteen years and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The highs and the lows and it’ll be strange not to be turning up next year and being a part of it all.

“At the moment, I’m just contemplating my options of what I could do. I could stay here with the club in a coaching aspect.

“I’d like to think I can join the coaching staff later in my career. It’s something I’m in talks with Adam (Pearson, owner), Lee and Motz (Motu Tony, football manager) on what we could do. It’s all up in the air at the moment.”

Horne confirmed that nothing has been finalised as yet, but conversations with the club’s hierarchy are ongoing.

“I’m still in talks with the club in what we’re going to do,” he explained.

“There hasn’t been a final decision made yet. I’m just seeing how we go with the rest of the year.”
