Newcastle land Kieran Gill on season-long loan

Newcastle have signed Castleford centre Kieran Gill on a season-long loan deal.

Gill, 22, made his Super League debut in 2017 but suffered a serious knee injury which kept him off the field for 10 months.

He returned to the Tigers first team last season and also spent time in League 1 with Oldham.

Gill said: “I’m really grateful for the opportunity with Thunder after a tough year last year and I’m looking forward to getting back to what I do best, with a team pushing for promotion. It’s something that I am very excited to be a part of.

“Coming back from such a major injury was tough mentally and physically but I grabbed every opportunity I got with Cas and I thank them very much for that.”

“With Thunder, it’s time to start proving myself to everyone and showing what I am capable of doing. I am looking forward to what this year brings.”

Gill is the latest eye-catching capture for Thunder, who have already brought in the likes of Liam Finn, Keal Carlile and Misi Taulapapa.
