Featherstone Rovers have announced that Tommy Saxton has penned a two-year contract extension that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2014 season. The former Castleford Tigers, Hull FC, Wakefield and Salford City Reds player has been a firm fans favourite at Featherstone Rovers since joining the club in 2008.

Featherstone Rovers Head Coach Daryl Powell said “I am absolutely delighted that Tommy Saxton has agreed to extend his stay with Featherstone Rovers for a further two years. He has been in sensational form again this season and his effort recently against Castleford Tigers in the Challenge Cup was one of the best I have seen from a winger in the recent past. He is consistently an outstanding performer and I look forward to working with him for the next two seasons.”

Chief Executive Craig Poskitt added “Following on from Dickens and Hepworth signing new deals recently and now this news, our squad for 2013 is already taking shape. Tommy has been one of the top performers outside of Super League since he joined Featherstone Rovers and this shows our ambition to keep our top players at the club.”

An equally happy Tommy Saxton said “I’m really looking forward to continuing my career with Rovers and hopefully more success with a great club.”

Saxton has made a total of 116 appearances scoring 49 tries for Featherstone Rovers and hopes to return from injury in the very near future.
