PREMIER DIVISION

SIDDAL recorded an impressive 40-19 win over THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS to maintain their place at the top of the table.

The hosts were 19-6 down at half-time but roared back with six second half tries to run away with the contest and claim the points.

Prop Tom Garratt and centre Scott Caley both crossed twice, whilst the other touchdowns came from Shaun Garrod, Sean McCormack and Daniel Keane. Gareth Blackburn improved each effort.

Thatto looked to be well in control thanks to first half tries to Jamie Tracey, Jack Jones – who also added a field-goal – and Darren Woods, but there efforts and three conversions from Sean Leicester were all in vain.

WATH BROW HORNETS returned from SKIRLAUGH with the points following a 28-6 victory.

Ross Kemp converted Joseph McLocklan’s first half effort but that proved to be the only time they troubled the score board.

The Hornets were 14-6 to the good by the interval and went on to record their fifth win of the campaign with something to spare.

Jamie Devine, James Dixon and Peter Caddy all crossed for the Hornets in the first half, before second period efforts from Fran King (2) and Luke Davidson – plus the second of two Charlie Tomlinson goals – made the game safe.

Rhys Davies and Ryan Barnes both scored twice as EGREMONT RANGERS beat HULL DOCKERS 28-16.

Keiran Glenn and Patrick Wells added further tries for the Cumbrians, with Matthew Bewsher and Lewis Beckwith kicking a goal each.

Andrew Taylor, Stephen Quigley and Chris Lyth replied for the Dockers, and Chris Stephenson landed two goals.

LOCK LANE ran in 11 tries as they crushed WIGAN ST JUDES 58-6.

Full-back Michael Hayward and winger Adam Garlick both starred with a hat-trick each, and scrum-half Danny Rowse helped himself to a try and seven goals.

Nicky Saxton, James Cryer, Jack Beddis and Chris Siddons added their name to the score sheet as the visitors registered an easy win.

St Judes only response came from Thomas Owen touchdown that was converted by Darryl King.

LEIGH MINERS RANGERS did just enough to hold off WIGAN ST PATRICKS 20-18.

Winger Andrew Groves crossed twice, full-back Johnny Youds went over and landed two conversions and loose-forward David Rowlands touched down as the Miners moved into fifth.

St Pats – who led 12-6 at the break – had scrum-half Brad Smith improve tries by Simon Atherton, Keiron Harrison and Ryan Smith.

WEST HULL kept the pressure up at the top of the table with a 22-4 win over EAST LEEDS.

John Carter touched down in the 31st minute for the visitors but that proved their only highlight as the champions proved to be too good.

Sam Cator and Josh Hart touched down for Wests in the first half, before Brett Turner and Matthew Plummer completed the job in the second half. Ian Kerman landed three goals.

ROCHDALE MAYFIELD were too good for ECCLES as they ran out 40-22 winners on Friday night.

Haiden Barber, Joe Budd, Joel Johnson (2) and Ryan Gallagher claimed the Acorn tries as Anthony Chilton booted two goals.

Saddleworth – who led 11-10 at the interval – crossed for three tries of their own through Ben Lloyd, Callum Siddal and Thomas Dransfield. Josh Bradbury converted two of them and Lloyd landed a field-goal.

INCE ROSE BRIDGE picked up a vital win over DEWSBURY CELTIC.

The 44-6 success was accomplished thanks to tries from Gareth Jones (2), Chris Boylan (2), Connor Matthews, Calum Hughes, Tom Whittle, Kieron Eccleston and Adam Dwyer. Matthews and Kenneth Baker (3) added the extras.

Celtic – who were 34-6 adrift at the mid-way point – could only muster a Jake Richardson try and Matthew Sheridan goal in response.

NORMANTON KNIGHTS good start to the season continued with a convincing 44-16 victory over MILLOM.

ELLAND won an entertaining game at LEIGH EAST 38-24.

The Halifax-based visitors raced into a 32-0 lead by half-time before the hosts improved in the second half to make more of a game of it.

Scrum-half Jamie Mayall landed four goals and hooker Terry Fitzgerald a late field-goal as the visitors upset the nearest rivals.
