Naiqama revisting Blackpool for Summer Bash

London Broncos centre Wes Naiqama is looking forward to becoming re-acquainted with Blackpool this weekend, at the Summer Bash.

The Fijian has actually already visited Blackpool before, and is relishing the chance to be part of the big occasion by the seaside.

“The fans are going to love Blackpool. Believe it or not but I’m no stranger to this place after visiting with the Fiji squad during the World Cup and for a Summer Bash promotion,” said the former Penrith Panthers man.

“There’s a good vibe about the place and hopefully the weather holds up which will set us up for an enjoyable two days of rugby league.

“I’ve never been involved in anything like this before. I think the closest thing back home will be the Auckland Nines.

“It’s proven to be a big hit over there giving fans the opportunity to see other teams and their exciting players in action over the weekend.

Naiqama is enjoying life in London, and also being one of the senior players at the Broncos.

“I’m really enjoying my time at the Broncos and living in London,” he added.

“I’m part of the leadership group at the club which naturally fell into place due to the amount of time I’ve been in the game and my experience. This gives me the opportunity to help the younger players develop.

“It’s taken me a while to adjust to the Championship and it’s turned out to be quite a tough competition. Our goal is still to be in that top four come the end of the season.

“Picking up injuries along the way doesn’t help but Andrew Henderson is great coach and knows how to get us there.

“Summer Bash will be fun for the guys in the stands and we’ll put on a display but there is two points up for grabs against Sheffield Eagles and we’ll be making sure we’re going home with them.”
