Morrison optimistic about Rams’ injury list

Dewsbury coach Glenn Morrison has given fans some good news ahead of his team’s opening Championship fixture against Sheffield Eagles.

Several of the club’s injured players are on the mend, and it looks likely that Morrison will have almost a full complement to pick from.

“It looks like Ryan Hepworth has damaged some soft tissue in his hand but it doesn’t look too bad,” he said.

Wayne Godwin has a couple of stitches in his head and he dislocated a finger – he’ll be okay. Otherwise we’ve come through the London game fine.

Ryan Fieldhouse saw a specialist on Monday. He’s a couple of weeks ahead of schedule which is good to see.

Greg Scott is running now and looking good, while Stephen Nash is close to full training.

“He was hoping to be fit for the first game of the season but that might come a little bit too early for him. Hopefully we’ll be able to give him a run against Oxford next week.

“The boys are looking fresh and hopefully we won’t be too far away from having a full squad for the first game of the season against Sheffield.”
