Morris named for Dragons

St George winger Brett Morris has been named in the Dragons side to face Gold Coast on Sunday, despite carrying a knee injury.

Morris limped off the field midway through the first half of his side’s 24-18 defeat to Manly at Kogarah and has undergone scans.

He has since however been named in the line-up for Sunday’s match at Skilled Park along with centre Matt Cooper who has been struggling of late with a toe problem.

“I have named both Brett and Matt in this week’s line-up despite their recent injuries and am hopeful they will play,” Dragons coach Steve Price told the club’s official website.

“Both players will be monitored by our medical staff throughout the week in the build-up to the game and given every opportunity to prove their match fitness.”
