Morris happy with WCC result

Two try hero Brett Morris says he is delighted with St George’s victory over Wigan Warriors in the PROBIZ World Club Challenge.

Morris, who was named man-of-the-match, played a starring role in the 21-15 victory which saw the Dragons crowned the World Champions for the first time in their history.

They did it without the presence of coach, Wayne Bennett, who was forced to return to Australia earlier in the week to be with a seriously ill relative.

Morris, who has won four test caps for Australia, says his team mates knew the magnitude of the test before they took the field.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game,” said Morris.

“Wigan play very similarly to us where they defend teams out of games and we knew it was going to be like that tonight.

“We didn’t panic as there’s a lot of belief in this side and we knew what we were capable of.”
