Former Golden Boot winner Anthony Minichiello has signed a one-year contract extension with Sydney Roosters.

The Sydney-born full back, 29, has spent his whole career with the Roosters, making his debut in 2000 and next season will be his eleventh with the club.

He won the international player of the year award in 2005 but has been hampered by injuries since then. However, a return to action in 2009 has earned him a deal for 2010.

Roosters CEO Steve Noyce said: “Anthony is a valuable character to this Club and we were delighted he decided to join us for another season.

“He is such a big part of the Club and with 10 years of service under his belt we were obviously keen to keep him here as part of our future moving forward.

“He will take on a bigger leadership role from next season and we are looking forward to seeing him step up into that position.”
