Millward pleased with Quins showing

Leigh Centurions boss Ian Millward felt his team came up with some good plays against Harlequins in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday.

“It was interesting, attacking wise we were very good and threw a lot of stuff at them but there were a couple of times defensively, mainly on our edges where we were a bit sloppy and made some wrong decisions but I thought our middle, our forwards were very strong.”

“Without the ball we struggled at the end and they got that try on the bell.”

Millward has now seen his team take to the field three times against Super League opposition.

“We won against Salford, the score was by no means a reflection of the game against Warrington and I thought we were a bit unlucky not to win against Harlequins but through our errors we didn’t nail it and that is probably the reason why.”

“I’ve tried to rotate everyone to see how they went, but we’ve just got to be a little bit more consistent. I didn’t think there was much between the two teams, not much at all.”
