Millward frustrated by match officials

Ian Millward was frustrated at the performance of the match officials in his side’s 17-17 draw with Catalan Dragons.

Referee James Child and his assistants left the field to a chorus of boos from the home supporters after the Tigers had two “tries” disallowed and denied a number of penalties.

The Cas fans were particularly annoyed when a high shot on Weller Hauraki late in the game went unpunished, leaving the player with a suspected broken nose.

Speaking after the match Millward said: “What about last week? Let’s go back to that. The referee we had got dropped to the Championship: Keighley versus Swinton.

“Do you think that should be something that should be done to referees if they don’t ref up to standard? They do that in football, sometimes they stand them down. But we can’t stand too many down because we don’t have a lot.”
