Mickey Higham leaves Warrington

Warrington have confirmed that they have sold Mickey Higham to Leigh for £50,000.

The player moves with immediate effect, though the terms of the agreement prevent him playing in the Challenge Cup quarter-final tie between the two clubs.

The Wolves refused an offer from Leigh last week, but Higham submitted a transfer request following that offer, and the club decided to change heart.

A statement on the Wolves official website reads:

“We would like to thank Micky for his outstanding service to the club over seven seasons since his debut in 2009. In his time at Warrington he has celebrated three Challenge Cup wins, a League Leaders Shield and reached two Grand Finals. We wish him well for his future.”
