McPherson leaves Salford

Shannan McPherson is to leave the Salford Red Devils with immediate effect, the club have confirmed.

The player reportedly wants to be closer to his family back home in Australia. He joined Salford in 2012 from South Sydney Rabbitohs.

“Shannan has been a model professional on and off the pitch throughout his time at the club,” said Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash.

“Although I am sad to see Shannon leave, I fully understand his decision and wish him all the best for the future.”

Coach Iestyn Harris added: “In my time at the club I have been impressed by the attitude Shannan has showed. He is a certainly a talented player and I wish him the best for the future.”
