McCarthy ready for ramped up Bulls

Hull KR skipper Tyrone McCarthy is expecting to face a highly motivated Bradford Bulls side at the KC Lightstream Stadium on Saturday.

Rovers have all but guaranteed their Super League survival with four wins from four in the Qualifiers so far, but want to make absolutely sure with a win over the Bulls.

That will be no easy task, according to McCarthy.

“Jimmy Lowes is a great coach and he’s a motivator,” the Ireland international told Rovers’ official website.

“He won’t have been happy with the performance or more so the scoreline that got put on them at the weekend,” KR’s stand-in skipper said.

“He’ll rally the troops and get them fired up on Saturday. They’ll be coming here wanting to cause an upset and we need to put in an 80-minute performance to go out there and try to get a good win rather than just grinding it out.

“We know we’ve got the quality in our side but it’s about attitude this week. We know they’ll come all guns blazing and we need to front up to that.”
