St Helens half-back Matty Smith is set to play for Championship side Sheffield against Toulouse on Sunday.

Smith, 30, is a two-time Super League winner and a former England international, but has struggled for game time at the Totally Wicked Stadium this season.

He is behind Theo Fages, Danny Richardson and Jonny Lomax in the pecking order and has featured just seven times in Super League in 2018.

The former Wigan, Salford and Crusaders man has been named in Mark Aston’s 19-man squad to face the Frenchmen at Olympic Legacy Park, with first choice half-back Simon Brown missing.

Sheffield have used several Saints players this season on dual-registration, and also have a number of former Saints youngsters in their ranks.

They currently sit ninth in the Championship with five wins from 18 games, four points above the drop zone.
