March makes Hunslet return

Hunslet Hawks player-coach Paul March is set to return to action against Batley Bulldogs.

Winger Richie Barnett could also feature after recovering from a knee injury, while March is hopeful that dual-registration signing Ben Gledhill will make his Hunslet debut.

March said: “Batley are the club that we want to be like. They’ve been in the Co-operative Championship for a lot of years.

“They’ve had some very good results this year. We’ve already played them twice, so we know all about how good they are.”

Impressive Bulldogs are just a point off second-placed Featherstone in the league table after recording seven wins from their first 10 games of the season.

But coach Karl Harrison insists his side are not overachieving. He said: “I still think there is plenty to come from the squad this season.

“There’s no point peaking in May when the Grand Final and play-offs are in September and October.”
