Manly deny Graham interest

Incoming Manly CEO Tim Cleary has poured cold water on speculation that James Graham would be joining the Sea Eagles for 2017.

Rumours have been widespread that the highly-rated English prop would be swapping clubs, but that is not the case.

“I saw that (rumour) but there’s no truth in that,” Cleary told Sporting News.

“If he was on the market and we could afford him it’d be something we’d look at, but there’s no truth in that.

“We’ve got a salary cap and we’ll stick by that.”

Cleary also asserted that the Sea Eagles were unlikely to be adding any more big names to the squad before the start of the season.

“There might be some fine tweaking but there are no big names coming our way,” he added.

“Our roster is pretty close to where it will start.”
