Manfredi set for return to action

Wigan winger Dominic Manfredi is set to make his long-awaited return from injury in a reserves match against St Helens on Saturday.

Manfredi, 23, has been out of action for 12 months after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a game against Castleford last August.

Despite that, he was still named in the 2016 Super League Dream Team following a stellar campaign that saw him score 15 tries in 25 games.

He was handed the number two shirt for this season and the club confirmed that he is likely to return at the Totally Wicked Stadium this weekend.

It is another boost for Wigan’s easing injury concerns, though they are still without Joel Tomkins (groin), Ben Flower (Achilles), Morgan Escare (knee) and Jake Shorrocks (knee).
