Magic Weekend a credit to rugby league fans, says Roby

St Helens hooker James Roby says that the Magic Weekend concept is a credit to fans of rugby league.

This month marks the sixth consecutive year that the whole of Super League have got together to play on the same weekend at one stadium, and the second successive event at the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City.

Roby believes that the respect amongst rugby league fans is what separates it from other sports, who would not be able to stage such an event.

He said: “It’s a different and exciting opportunity for all the players to perform in front of a mixture of fans from all the Super League clubs.

“And it’s a credit to everyone involved that the event can be staged, as I’m sure other sports simply couldn’t consider the concept due to the suspected trouble between rival fans.”

St Helens face Warrington in this year’s Magic Weekend, which takes place on May 25-26.

Tickets for the 2013 Magic Weekend start from £30 adult and £15 concessions for the day and just £45 adult and £22.50 concession for the whole weekend. Tickets can be purchased by calling the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 856 1113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk
