Lunt knows KR must toughen up after derby defeat

Hull KR hooker Shaun Lunt has insisted that the team have no time to be sad about last week’s derby defeat to Hull FC.

Instead, the Robins must put their noses back to the grindstone, and put the wrongs from that defeat right.

“It was very disappointing but at the end of the day they played better than us. We’ve got to lick out wounds, we can’t sulk and we’ve got to crack on now,” the hooker told his club’s official website.

“We made too many errors and we just played dumb, which was epitomised by our performance in the second half.

“They only had two people on the bench and we didn’t capitalise on that. We needed to hang onto the ball, wear them out and win it in the last 20 minutes but we coughed it up too much.

“It doesn’t matter how good you are, if you play dumb like we did you’re not going to get the win. Marc Sneyd just kicked us all over the park and that’s what we should have done to them.

“We can’t feel sorry for ourselves now, we’ve got to be mentally tough and get out there and put our wrongs right.”
