Wakefield have confirmed that highly-rated winger Lee Kershaw has signed a contract extension until the end of 2020.

The 20-year-old has had a breakthrough year at the Mobile Rocket Stadium, scoring 10 minutes into his Super League debut against Leeds in April.

He has gone on to score twice in five games for Trinity this campaign, as well as crossing four times in five games on dual-registration at Oldham.

On extending his stay at the club, Kershaw said: “I’m over the moon to have signed a new deal.

“Hopefully next year I can carry on getting some more games under my belt. It was an easy decision for me to sign the contract and I think Wakefield can develop me further, so I’m excited for the future.”

Head Coach Chris Chester added: “It’s great news that Lee has signed a new deal at the club. He’s been enjoying a good run in the side and has impressed on each occasion.

“He’s a player that is always eager to improve and I’m looking forward to seeing him develop in the future.”
