New South Wales and Australia forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs says his decision to extend his stay at Canberra for a further three seasons is the right one.

Learoyd-Lahrs, 25, has signed a deal to keep him with the Raiders until the end of the 2014 season.

“It’s great to have my future organised before the new season and to stay in Canberra is the right decision for me and more importantly my family,” Learoyd-Lahrs said.

“I want to give back to the club that’s given me so much and I truly believe we’re in for a few special seasons.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said the club was thrilled to have Learoyd-Lahrs on the books for three more years and said it showed the players who come to Canberra want to stay in Canberra.

“Tommy is a huge part of our organisation, he’s a senior player at the club and a leader and we’re just happy he’s decided to stay at the club he’s been at for five years now,” Furner said.

“We’ve shown over the past two years that players that come to the club want to stay at the club and we’re building towards a bright future.”
