Ex-Dewsbury Rams winger Donald Kudangirana has been banned for three years and seven months after admitting to an anti-doping violation.

The Zimbabwean tested positive for banned substances dostanolone and testosterone at his out-of-competition UK Anti-Doping test in December 2016.

Kudangirana played two games for Dewsbury in 2016, along with an appearance for dual-registration partners at the time Hemel Stags.

He was provisionally suspended on 30 January 2017 and the Rams suspended him in February 2017 after they found out about the failed test. His ban will expire on 29 August 2020.

UKAD CEO, Nicole Sapstead, said: “It is every athlete’s individual responsibility to monitor and control what substances enter their body.

“We hope cases such as Mr Kudangirana’s serve as a deterrent to all other athletes.”
