Koukash vents frustration after Salford defeat

Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash took to Twitter to vent his frustration after their Challenge Cup defeat to Widnes on Sunday.

Koukash appeared in the tunnel near to the dug out in the first half, as the Vikings opened up a 12-0 lead.

Denis Betts’ side had opened up a 24-8 lead with less than 10 minutes to go, before a late Salford rally almost created an unlikely turnaround.

Koukash tweeted: “I have done all I can to bring success to Salford. The players NEED to respect the shirt they wear.”

Salford have now lost three games in a row under Iestyn Harris, who was recently appointed as head coach following the controversial decision to move Brian Noble aside.
