MILFORD MARLINS opened their season with a 26-14 derby win over HUNSLET WARRIORS.

The Marlins opened up an 18-10 lead by the break and finished the game with four tries from Joshua Nathaniel, Steven Bacon, Adam Kelly and James Barker.

Five goals from Ryan Oxtoby closed their account.

The Warriors replied with three touchdowns via Matthew Fox, Caldon Bravo and Johnny Dawson.

Robbie Valentine and Mitchell Parr both scored twice as INCE ROSE BRIDGE won 18-4 over MYTON WARRIORS.

Kenneth Baker landed a conversion for the hosts, with Myton’s only reply coming from a second half effort from centre Nick Halstead.

PILKINGTON RECS ran in eight tries as they ran out 44-12 winners over SHAW CROSS SHARKS.

Scrum-half Danny Lynch booted six goals and centre Mark Ashton grabbed a brace as the home side produced a clinical second-half display.

The Sharks only trailed 20-12 at the interval after Danny Flowers improved tries from Jordan Anderson and Adam Masson, however, Pilks were far too good and finished the contest with four-pointers from Daniel Filson, Ian Stanley, Andrew Knapper, Mark Briody, John Rees and Liam Bostock.

SALFORD CITY ROOSTERS battled past SADDLEWORTH RANGERS 22-12.

Ben Whitehead improved efforts from Daniel Bowker and Tom Robinson for Rangers, but it was all in vain as the Roosters picked up the two points.

Steven Barry, Andrew Muscat, Joe Connor and Paul Morgan were the home sides try scorers with scrum-half Jordan Parker adding three goals.

YORK ACORN ran in 11 tries as they cruised to a 62-22 win over WIGAN ST JUDES.

Stand-off Antony Chilton landed nine goals for an Acorn outfit that only led 22-10 at the break.

Joe Budd (2), Ryan Gallagher, Jordan Myers, Joshua Thompson, Daryl North, Nick Speck, Davey Burns, Joe Porter, Lewis Lord and Harry Bromwich were the men to cross the whitewash.

St Judes replied with tries from Brett Taberner (2), Nathan Bevan and Nathan Jones, plus three Dean Hunt goals.
