Jowitt insists Rams will bounce back

Dewsbury Rams coach Warren Jowitt insists his squad will bounce back from last week’s 28-0 defeat against Batley.

Rams were completely outplayed in their first Co-operative Championship fixture of 2011, but Jowitt is certain things will be different this week.

He said: “Looking the lads in the eyes at training, and seeing their body language this week, I can tell you they’re going to bounce back on Saturday.

“There’s no reason why we shouldn’t bounce back. It was a very poor performance, and the players know that.”

He added: “Each team will have a bad one this year – hopefully that’s ours and we’ve got it out of the way.”

Luke Blake is fit to play despite suffering a blow to the head last week.

On Toulouse, Jowitt said: “We’ve already played them once, and we know what they’re about.

“They come fast and hard, and we’ve got to withstand that. Josh Lewis is a very good half-back, and Brendan Worth is very influential as well. If we can stop those two then we’ll be making things easier for ourselves.”

Toulouse Olympique started their season with a stunning 26-12 victory over last year’s champions Halifax.

And coach Gilles Dumas could be further boosted by the returns of Sebastien Payan and Constant Villegas for the trip to West Yorkshire.
