Premier Sports Championship One Player of the Week – Jon Ford (Oldham)

Oldham centre Jon Ford was the star man as Oldham recorded a thrilling 36-32 win at South Wales Scorpions.

Ford – on loan from Salford City Reds this season – scored four tries in a sparkling individual performance out wide.

“Jon is a finisher, and he took his tries well,” said Oldham assistant coach Lee Spencer, who was in charge with Scott Naylor unable to attend for personal reasons.

“He hit some good lines and finished all the tries well.

“For one of them he took three players over with him – they took some scoring and weren’t just sitters.

“Jon is only a young fella but he’s slowly and surely improving.”
