Hunter-Paul hints at more Bulls recruits

Bradford Bulls chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul has hinted that there could be more new recruits on their way to Odsal soon.

Ben Kavanagh was the club’s sixth signing of the close season last week, and potential new recruits are being considered on an almost constant basis, according to Hunter-Paul.

“There’s always scope for me. You don’t ever say ‘that’s it.’ It’s the nature of the industry,” he told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.

“Circumstances change and you have to be ready to adapt, it’s a results-driven business.

“Our network in the rugby league-playing world is massive. We’ve got the UK covered and our tendrils are out there in Australia.

“We’ve brought in the likes of Kris Welham, a lively addition, and Ben Kavanagh, who we signed last week. We had to beat off Super League clubs that wanted his services.

“Good players attract good players. We are one of the leading lights in the Championship; one of the teams expecting to hopefully make that step up to Super League. A responsibility comes with that.

“I’m having players thrown at me on a daily basis and it’s the same with Steve Ferres, who’s tasked with the responsibility of bringing them in.

“We never stop looking and players never stop asking. It’s an ongoing process.”
