Hunslet swoop for centre pair

Hunslet have moved to sign centre pairing Chris Hall and Jack Latus from Morley Rugby Union and Harlequins respectively.

It marks a return to South Leeds for Hall, 32, who has had a previous stint with the Hawks, before leaving to join Dewsbury Rams and then switching codes.

Latus, 22, came through the ranks at Hull KR before moving south, but he has since sought a release from his contract, after recently spending time on loan at London Skolars, scoring two tries in five appearances.

Hawks Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “We’re delighted to be able to strengthen the squad for the vital run to the end of the season and in particular an area we were looking to strengthen, Chris is a very classy talent who can cover both wing and full back positions but we see him slotting into the centre’s much like Jack who can also cover all the back positions but again his preferred position is centre, he joins us hungry to prove a point and were thrilled to offer him this opportunity.”

“After the Halifax game we have a enforced break of 3 weeks which will allow us to get over several bumps and bruises and work on some of the areas that we’ve highlighted where we need to improve on, I am currently in discussion with a couple of forward targets that hopefully will be on board for our next fixture against Widnes on 3rd July.”
